Joint Base San Antonio – Randolph, Texas – Learning professionals from across the Air Force gathered virtually for a three-day event March 23, hosted by Air Education and Training Command’s A3/6 Credentialing Division. The 2021 Learning Professionals Consortium focused on developing the Airmen we need.
“Education makes us professionals and more than just an occupation; it is about unleashing our Airmen to think outside of the box,” Lt. Gen. Brad Webb, commander of Air Education and Training Command, said, during the keynote address for the event. “We trust our Airmen to be empowered and Airman- centric programs or programs that encourage innovation enforce this mindset. Empowered Airmen are our strength and unique value proposition as we enter this time of great power competition.”
The Learning Professionals Consortium featured presenters whose topics included transforming instruction, building a flight commander’s course and a session on AFWERX.
“We were thrilled with the level of participation from both our presenters, as well as, our attendees,” said Dr. Angela Canada, AETC/A3B division chief. “With over 500 attendees, we outpaced our numbers from our 2019 event.”
The event was designed for learning professionals to meet, interact and collaborate on innovations for learning across the Air Force. By having events like these learning professionals strengthen their knowledge, skills and abilities while enhancing their universal skillsets that are important to all Airmen regardless of specific Air Force Specialty Code.
“I was eager to support this event,” Bonnie L. Houser, PhD, DAF, Deputy Chief, AF Voluntary Education (AF/A1DLV), who provided remarks for the event, said. “As a learning professional myself, it was exciting to engage with the training and education communities across the Air Force."
