An HH-60 Pave Hawk from Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, sits on a ramp at Sheppard AFB, Texas, Sept. 27, 2021. The arrival of the retired aircraft has been 30 years in the making as a request was submitted in April 1991 to have the HH-60 brought to Sheppard to be used as a ground instructional training aircraft for 363rd Training Squadron armament and munitions Airmen in Training. Space Delta 13 activates to lead STARCOM education and accessions
Maxwell AFB, Ala. – Commandants or Officers in Charge of subordinate units of Space Delta 13 salute Col. Niki Lindhorst, Space Delta 13 commander, during the activation and assumption of command ceremony, Sep. 13, 2021. Vosler Non Commissioned Officer Academy, National Space Security Institute, 13th Delta Operations Squadron, Space Delta 13 Detachments 1 and 2 represent the subordinate units for Space Delta 13. The delta will concentrate on building independent developmental education at the intermediate and senior levels for officers and to further enlisted developmental education through the establishment of the Enlisted Center of Excellence. The Department of the Air Force designated Maxwell as the initial location for Delta 13. The event is normally held bi-annually for international senior enlisted counterparts to the chief master sergeant of the Air Force to discuss issues affecting the international community of enlisted Airmen and to further build relationships.
